Kim is originally from Sioux Falls SD and grew up on a small family grain and livestock farm there. Since attending the University of South Dakota, Kim has worked in the seed and grain business since 1976; first in Thief River Falls MN, then with Arrowhead in Fargo ND before co-founding Agassiz in 1985. Kim is active in the agricultural industry as a member of the North Dakota State Seed Commission, the North Dakota State Crop Show Committee, the Agriculture In The Classroom Council and the Minnesota Seed Program Advisory Group. Kim is a past board member of the ASTA and past president of the Northern Seed Trade Association, North Dakota Agriculture Association and the Field Seed Institute of North America. Away from Agassiz Kim has been active in supporting his church as past council president and serving on several committees. Kim and his wife Sandy have been married since 1976 and have 3 children and 7 grandchildren who all enjoy spending time together at the lake cabin.
A native of Moorhead MN Tisha has been with Agassiz for more than 19 years working in telephone reception, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and inventory. Tisha oversees all of our accounting and data entry; most of our customers have spoken to her while she has been working in one of these areas. If you have any questions regarding your account Tisha will point you in the right direction. Tisha and her husband live in Moorhead with their two daughters. Between her girls and all their activities Tisha manages to stay busy, but when she does have free time she enjoys gardening, riding motorcycle, reading, and loves camping with her family.
Dave grew up on a farm in north central North Dakota and attended NDSU. Dave has been employed in the seed industry since 1978 starting with Arrowhead. Dave has been instrumental in the growth of the company, serving in many different capacities since he helped start the company in 1985. Dave is a corporate Vice President, oversees the processing, shipping and receiving of all products at Agassiz Seeds. Dave and his wife Alice of 40 short years both grew up in Northern North Dakota. They moved to the Fargo area in 1973 and made this area their home. Dave & Alice have 3 sons with 3 daughter-in-laws, that have blessed them with 3 grandsons and 2 granddaughters; which they love to spend as much time with as they can. In their spare time, they enjoy playing with their grandkids, motorcycle trips, and Bison Football Tailgating.
Shipping & Receiving/Electronic Repair
Brant has been with Agassiz on a part time basis since 1998 and became full time with us in 2006. Brant takes care of our daily small package shipping and receiving for all of our package delivery companies. Brant is one of our service technicians for electronic scales and moisture meters.
Turf & Forage Products Manager
Lavern grew up on a farm near Madison SD and has a degree in accounting from Nettleton Business College. Lavern has been with Agassiz since 2004, and has been involved in the upper Midwest seed industry since 1978 in management, ownership, sales and purchasing and has an extensive background with native and introduced grasses and turf. Lavern is a past president of both the South Dakota Seed Association and the Northern Seed Trade Association. Lavern manages all of the lawn and turf seed programs and forage seed programs including alfalfa, native grasses and legumes and annual forages for Agassiz Seed.
DOT & Erosion Control Products Manager
Al grew up on a farm in west central MN and is a graduate of South Dakota State University. Al has been in the seed business since 1986 starting with the Sexauer Company and has been with Agassiz since 1989 and is our corporate Secretary. Al is active in the agricultural & construction industries. He has served on the Boards of the North Dakota Crop Improvement Association, Minnesota Forage and Grassland Council, is a past President of the Northern Seed Trade Association and the North Dakota Agriculture Association, and is currently serving on the board of the Minnesota Seeding Contractors Association. Al oversees the sales and purchasing of our road side seeding and erosion control materials.
Inoculant/Seed Treatment/Baler Twine/ Net Wrap Product Manager
Chris is a West Fargo native, but spent most of his time growing up on the family’s farm in northeastern South Dakota. Chris is a graduate of the University of North Dakota and has been with Agassiz most of his life. He started full time with us in 2005 in a sales territory where he had responsibility for sales and marketing of all Agassiz products. Today, Chris manages all of the soybean inoculant, seed treatment, and baler twine/net wrap product lines. In his spare time, Chris enjoys traveling with his wife and two daughters, as well as being on the Board of Directors for the Red River Zoo.
Bob grew up on a farm NE of Hallock, MN and attended Moorhead State College. Bob has worked in the seed industry since 1974 with Owatonna Canning Co, Dahlgren, Cargill, Mustang Seed and Peterson Farms Seed covering eastern ND, MN and northeast SD. Bob has spent his career solving problems for dealers and growers who sell and plant many kinds of seed. Bob's product knowledge, enjoyment of people and service minded attitude are an asset to all Agassiz customers.
Chris Prochnow “Chrispy” has made his home in Casselton, ND for 38 years. He is married and has three children. He has been working in the agriculture field his whole life; from the farm to retail implement. He has been involved with several things in the community from Cub Scouts to the local Fire Department for 15 years as an assistant chief, Relay for Life, Central Cass Booster Club, and also helping the Absaraka Crows baseball little league team. He enjoys snowmobiling, spending time with family, and also hunting and fishing in central North Dakota.
Landon joined the Agassiz team as our Industrial Supplies and Testing Equipment Sales representative in June of 2014. Landon comes to us with extensive experience in industrial supplies and technology sales. Landon is originally from Pingree, ND, grew up in Bismarck and has a degree in Industrial Distribution Technology from the University of Minnesota, Moorhead. In his spare time Landon enjoys spending time with his wife Amber and their daughter, helping on his cousin’s farm along with hunting, fishing and golfing when he can find time.
Scott grew up in Dallas, SD and moved to the Fargo area in 2004. He lives in Casselton with his wife and three children. Scott enjoys carpentry projects around the house, golf and has been the Cubmaster for the Cub Scouts in Casselton since 2012.
